JUDGEMENT

(1.) The petitioners are minors who were selected for training at the Women's Football Academy, Panampilly Nagar, Ernakulam. The petitioners seek a declaration that they are entitled to continue in the Women's Football Academy, Panampilly Nagar, Ernakulam.

(2.) The Women's Football Academy, Panampilly Nagar aims at promoting women's football under the age of 14 to international standard. It is a collaborative initiative of the Kerala State Sports Council and the Department of Education. The petitioners state that they are residents of various Districts in Kerala and they joined the Academy at Panampilly Nagar, Ernakulam in 2021. They were admitted to Schools in Ernakulam City, for their academic studies. The study consists of Phase I basic training for students in the 8 th to 10th standards and Phase II advanced training for selected students in the 11 th and 12th Standards.

(3.) On completion of Phase I basic training, after weeding out, the petitioners were found eligible for Phase II. The petitioners were required to apply for selection for Phase II. During the application process, there were only two College Academies in Thiruvalla and Irinjalakkuda where options were available for admission for Plus One class. The petitioners are not interested in joining the College Academies in Thiruvalla or Pathanamthitta. The petitioners remained in Panampilly Sports Academy and joined 11th and 12th classes in Ernakulam for pursuing their education.
