JUDGEMENT

(1.) THE petitioner challenges Ext.P4 resolution passed by the 2nd respondent on behalf of University of Calicut appointing the fourth respondent to the post of Lecturer in the Folklore Department and also seeks a declaration that the petitioner is duly qualified and entitled to be appointed as Lecturer in Folklore as against respondents 4 and 5.

THE facts involved in the case would disclose that the University issued Ext.P1 notification dated 28/04/2010 calling for applications for selection to the post of Lecturer in the Folklore Department. As per Exhibit P1 the qualification criteria was stated as good academic record with at least 55% marks in Masters Degree in the relevant subject of the University or of any Indian University/Foreign University as equivalent thereto and clearance in the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Lecturers conducted by UGC/CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC or Ph.D in the concerned subject or completed M.Phil Degree in the concerned subject.

(3.) PETITIONER had also made a comparison with the marks given to the 4th respondent. He was given 63 marks which consisted of 25 marks for getting first rank in the post graduation and 15 marks for NET along with PhD. He was given six marks for publication, 12 marks for interview and additional five marks for another degree.
