JUDGEMENT

(1.) In this writ petition, the Petitioner seeks for a direction to the University to issue equivalency certificate. Mainly the Petitioner is aggrieved by Ext.P5 communication of the 1st Respondent directing the Petitioner to produce the equivalency certificate. The Petitioner herein is having the qualification of M. Sc in Botany and Ph.D in Plant Physiology.

(2.) The Public Service Commission had invited applications as per the notification dated 12.12.2007 from suitable and qualified persons for being selected for appointment to various posts of Lecturers including Lecturers in Botany. It was specified in Note (iv) appended to Clause 7 that for recruitment to the above posts under these Rules, Degrees awarded by the Universities recognized by UGC alone shall be considered.

(3.) Pursuant to the same, the Petitioner submitted an application and appeared for the written examination on and thereafter for the interview on 19.11.2010. The Petitioner challenges Ext.P5 on various grounds.
