SUNNY POULOSE Vs. KERALA STATE ELECTION COMMISSION

JUDGEMENT

(1.) The writ petition, W.P.(C).No.16869/2020 was filed by Sunny Poulose and his wife Bini Sunny challenging the decision of the Electoral Registration Officer in excluding their names from the electoral roll of the Vannapuram Grama Panchayat. That order was appealed before the Deputy Director of Panchayat, who is an Appellate Authority under the law. That appeal was also dismissed. This order is also under challenge in this writ petition. The writ petitioners herein are referred to by their names.

(2.) W.P.(C).No.18519/2020 was filed by one Siby Joseph seeking consideration of a complaint raised against Sunny Poulose before the State Election Commission. That complaint was moved to remove the name of Sunny Poulose from the electoral roll of Vannapuram Grama Panchayat. The decision in this case would depend upon the outcome of the decision in W.P.(C).No.16869/2020.

(3.) Sunny Poulose is the Vice President of Vannapuram Grama Panchayat. It appears that he has been elected to the Grama Panchayat on several occasions.
