JUDGEMENT

(1.) This Bail Application filed under Section 438 of Criminal Procedure Code was heard through Video Conference.

(2.) The petitioner is the accused in Crime No. 664 of 2020 of Alappuzha North Police Station, Alappuzha District. The above case is registered against the petitioner alleging offences punishable under Sections 406 , 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

(3.) The petitioner is the State Organising Secretary of Dravida Munnetta Kazhakam (DMK) in Kerala, which is the opposition political party in Tamil Nadu. It is alleged that the defacto complainant and others paid Rs. 50,000/- each to the petitioner who offered a job as Ground Staff at Chennai Airport to them. Subsequently, the job is not arranged and money is not returned to them. Hence, the above complaint is filed.
