(3.) At the outset it requires to be mentioned that the Appellants were charged along with Constable (Ct.) Jagbir Singh (who has already been acquitted by a separate judgment dated 18th October 2000 of the trial Court) and Chand Singh [Accused No. 9 (A-9)]. Of the 8 accused convicted, appeals have been filed by six of them. Ct. Sunder Lal (A-7) has apparently expired. The appeal filed by A-1 Dalip Singh stood abated since he expired during the pendency of these appeals.
