CHARANJIT WALIA Vs. STATE OF DELHI

JUDGEMENT

(1.) The relevant facts are these: The petitioner Charanjit Walia was married to Neelam in 1973. There are two issues of the marriage-both daughters. Ritu was born in 1975 and Geetu was born in 1977. Ritu is studying at present in third standard in Guru Nanak Fifth Century School, Mussoorie. Geetu is studying in the second standard in the same school. Both are boarders in the school.

(2.) Neelam filed a petition for divorce and on 8th September 1983 the Additional District Judge passed an ex-parte order dissolving the marriage. The petition was not contested by the husband Charanjit Walia.

(3.) After the dissolution of the marriage Neelam remarried Jagbir Singh Walia in 1984. Charanjit Walia remarried Meena.
