JUDGEMENT

(1.) An Additional Sessions Judge of Delhi has found Krishan Lal guilty of murdering his stepdaughter, Raj Kumari, and sentenced him to imprisonment for life. Against that conviction, Krishan Lal has now appealed.

(2.) The case which emerges from the evidence of the prosecution is rather intriguing. Krishan Lal is a mason by profession. He had an elder brother whose name was Bhoop Singh. This elder brother was married to a lady by the name of Chandra Kala, They had daughter whose name was Raj Kumari.

(3.) In or about 1975, Bhoop Singh died. Sometime afterwards; Kishan Lal married Chandra Kala, the widow of Bhoop Singh. Raj Kumari, the daughter of Bhoop Singh, also resided with them. They then had two daughters of their own.
