JUDGEMENT

(1.) The petitioner is a 100% visually disabled student, pursuing his M.A. in Sociology in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). He has not been allotted any hostel since the time he was admitted to the M.A. course on 23/11/2022. He has, therefore, approached this Court by means of the present writ petition, seeking that he be provided hostel accommodation.

(2.) On 1/8/2017, the petitioner was admitted to a combined five year B.A.-M.A. programme in German in the JNU. Without completing the programme in the JNU, the petitioner left midway on 26/11/2020. However, as he had completed three years, he was awarded a B.A. degree in German.

(3.) During the course of his B.A. programme, the petitioner was allotted a room in the Kaveri Hostel which he occupied.
