M. NAGESWARA RAO Vs. UNION OF INDIA

Decided On April 07, 2022
M. Nageswara Rao Appellant
V/S
UNION OF INDIA Respondents

JUDGEMENT

(1.) The Court notes that the grievance which is addressed on the present petition is with respect to dual "blue ticks" not appearing against the Twitter handle of the petitioner. From the communication of 22/3/2022, the Court notes that the respondent private entity has apprised the petitioner that his account could not be verified since he had failed to confirm his email and phone number. That communication also left it opens to the petitioner to reapply for verification.

(2.) The Court notes that the private respondent takes a preliminary objection to the maintainability of the writ petition itself with learned Senior Counsel contending that it would not be amenable to the jurisdiction of the Court as conferred under Article 226 of the Constitution.

(3.) However and notwithstanding the above, bearing in mind the nature of the disclosure which has been made by the respondent No.2 in the present case and the limited nature of the controversy which stands raised, this petition shall stand disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to reapply for verification in terms as indicated by the private respondent.
