(1.) Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader for the respondent.

The case of the prosecution is that: The Thasildar of Mulbagal Taluk in his complaint to the respondent police on 05.04.2016 has alleged that certain amounts which were intended to be released to certain villagers who are suffering on account of drought in Kolar District were identified by the Thasildar. In particular, it is stated in the complaint that for the year 2014 -15, Rs.57,424/ - to Kasaba Hobli, Rs.1,86,775/ - to Avani Hobli, Rs.48,120/ - to Byrakuru Hobli, Rs.2,37,602/ - to Duggasandra and etc. were allotted by the Government and a list of beneficiaries drawn up. That the petitioner who is employed as accountant in the office of the Thasildhar and the other co -accused who was working as a village accountant, by manipulating the list of beneficiaries have entered the names of undeserving villagers who are not identified by the Thasildar and have released the amount to the beneficiaries who were neither entitled nor identified by the Thasildhar. On the said allegation, the respondent police have registered the FIR in crime No.76/2016 for the offences punishable under Sections 406 and 408 of IPC.

Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the present petitioner who is arraigned as accused No.1 is into the 8th month of her pregnancy and any coercive action like arrest and detention would have serious consequence on her health and child birth and hence, prays that the petition be allowed and the petitioner be enlarged on anticipatory bail. Learned Counsel has also furnished a report of Sonography dated 24.03.2016 issued by the hospital which discloses that the petitioner is pregnant and into the 25th week of her pregnancy.
