JUDGEMENT

(1.) The petitioner who is working as Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology in the second respondent - Institute has approached this Court with the prayer to issue a writ of mandamus directing respondent Nos.1 to 3 herein to forthwith finalize the petitioner's promotion claim to the grade of Professor in OBG Department in the second respondent - Institute and issue necessary orders thereon.

(2.) Heard the learned counsel appearing for the parties.

(3.) The petitioner, who was appointed as Assistant Professor in the second respondent - Institute was subsequently promoted to the post of Associate Professor. It is the case of the petitioner that she has been working as Associate Professor with effect from 6/8/2012. The second respondent - Institute has issued a Circular dtd. 26/7/2022, vide Annexure-J calling for applications from the eligible candidates to fill up the post of Professor that had fallen vacant in various departments. In response to the same, the petitioner appears to have filed her application on 1/7/2022. On the ground that the said application is not yet considered, the petitioner is before this Court.
