JUDGEMENT

(1.) This writ petition is directed against the order passed by Karnataka Administrative Tribunal, Belagavi in Application No.8849/2018 dtd. 13/1/2020.

(2.) Brief facts of the case of the respondent before the KAT are as under:

(3.) That respondent was working as Assistant Teacher in Sri Marikamba Pre-University College, Secondary School Division, Sirsi of Uttar Kannada District. He secured Post Graduate Degree in Political Science (M.A. Political Science) in the year 2007. As per the Cadre and Recruitment Rules which was amended during 1999, there was an exemption for obtaining Master Degree in the same subject taught by them to the person who obtained the same prior to 27/5/1998. Respondent possessed Master's Degree in political Science, he was eligible for being considered and promoted to the cadre of Lecturer in P.U.College in the subject Political Science. Pursuant to the said notification, respondent had made a representation seeking promotion. Petitioner No.2 had denied the promotion to the respondent.
