(1.) THE grievance of the petitioners as aired by their Learned Counsel is, though the 1st petitioner was ranked 9,225 in the reserved 3AG category for medical/dental stream in the Common Entrance Test (CET), and the 2nd petitioner ranked 15,452 in the SC General category for the very same stream, the reserved seats are not allotted to any of the candidates and kept vacant even after the conclusion of the three rounds of counseling. According to Sri. N.K. Ramesh, Learned Counsel for the Karnataka Examination Authority, which conducted the CET in the first round of counseling, one Roopa K. with rank 3,204 was allotted the sole seat reserved for 3AG category at M/s. M.S. Ramaiah Dental College, while Monika ranked 9,111, Yashas N. Raj ranked 9,842 and Deepika S. ranked 8,605, were allotted the 3 seats reserved for SCG category in the same College. Learned Counsel hastens to add that petitioners' ranking being lower than those to whom seats were allotted, are disentitled to the allotment of reserved seats in M/s. M.S. Ramaiah Dental College. In that view of the matter, no exception can be taken to the allotment of seats and the petitions devoid of merit, are rejected.
