JUDGEMENT

(1.) After hearing learned counsel for the parties, we think it appropriate that the central government should entertain this dispute in exercise of its revisional jurisdiction under s. 6 of the Cinematograph Act, 1952 and consider whether the exhibition of the film 'kalyug Aur Ramayan', now renamed as 'kalyug Aur ', is against the interests of decency and morality in which those words have been used in s. 5b (2) of the Act. It appears that this film depicts scenes which hurt hindu sentiments and also denigrate the judiciary in general. It will be open to the central government to examine such further material as it considers necessary for disposing of the case. The central government will afford an opportunity to the petitioner as well as respondents nos. 3 and 4 to appear before it during the disposal of the case. The central government will consider the rights and contentions of the parties and will come to its own conclusion whether the exhibition of the film 'kalyug Aur Ramayan' should be
