JUDGEMENT

(1.) The question involved in this case is covered by the decision of this court in Ishwar Singh Bagga v. State of Rajasthan. No officer of the state Road Transport Corporation can be appointed to exercise powers under S. 129-A of the Motor Vehicles Act. We therefore quash the impugned notification dated 16/07/1986 issued by the State of uttar Pradesh appointing 8 classes of officers of the U. P. State Road transport Corporation to exercise the powers under S. 129-A of the Motor Vehicles Act. The writ petition is allowed accordingly. No costs.
