COMMON CAUSE Vs. UNION OF INDIA AND ANR.

JUDGEMENT

(1.) The learned Attorney General for India, on instruction, submits that as far as Mr. Rupak Kumar Dutta, IPS, is concerned, his curtailment has been done after following the procedure laid down under Section 4C of the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act, 1946. It is further submitted that the process of appointment of regular Director to the CBI has been commenced and hopefully, the first meeting of the Committee will take place in the last week of December, 2016.

(2.) The learned Attorney General further submits that the counter affidavit on behalf of the Government of India is being filed during the course of the day. Permission is granted. The petitioner is at liberty to file Rejoinder Affidavit, if any, within 10 days. List on 17.01.2017.
