SHAKILA BANO Vs. STATE OF RAJASTHAN AND ORS.

JUDGEMENT

(1.) Pursuant to our order dated 3.1.94 the Superintendent of Police, District Dhosha, State of Rajasthan as well as the Superintendent of Police, Etah, State of Uttar Pradesh are present. Each Superintendent has produced a girl in the result there are two girls produced before us. One from the district of Dhosha claimed as Rani while the other produced from the district of Etah, State of Uttar Pradesh is stated to be that as Nasrin (a) Rani and presently as Vidya. She is somewhat dazed. She however admits that she is able to recognize her mother who is present in Court. She is unable to come out with any information as to how she was taken away from her house. Therefore, we permit the learned counsel for the petitioner to interview both the girls and the mother and file a detailed statement as to what had really happened. Likewise, the Superintendent of District Dhosha, State of Rajasthan shall file a detailed statement regarding efforts taken to secure the girl. The Superintendent of Police, District Etah, State of Utter Pradesh is directed to file a detailed affidavit in respect of the following particulars:

(2.) Till tomorrow both the girls shall be taken in the National Federation of Indian Women as inmates of Smt. Vimla Farooqi, the President of the Federation.
