JUDGEMENT

(1.) None appears for the respondent-State though served.

(2.) Leave granted.

(3.) Heard the learned counsel for the appellant. Pursuant to the orders of this Court dated 15th July, 2011, the appellant has deposited a sum of Rs. 1 lakh. The appellant was initially convicted by the trial court for an offence punishable under Section 7 of the Essential Commodities Act and was awarded a sentence of two years rigorous imprisonment and payment of fine of Rs. 2,000/-. The said sentence has been reduced by the High Court from two years to three months but enhanced the fine to Rs. 10,000/- from Rs. 2,000/-. As of today, the appellant has undergone one month of the sentence.
