JUDGEMENT

(1.) WE have heard the learned counsel for the parties as well as Mr P.S. Narasimha, learned amicus curiae.

(2.) HAVING regard to the submissions made and the material available on record and having regard to the availability of the timber as at present, we direct the Government of Uttar Pradesh to dispose of all the pending applications seeking grant of licences for establishment of sawmills/veneer/plywood within a period of two months from today in accordance with law and the orders passed by this Court from time to time and more particularly, the order dated 30/4/20101. We make it clear that all the earlier orders passed by this Court on this subject culminating in the orders dated 30/4/20101 made in IAs Nos. 1137 with 1319 and batch of IAs and writ petitions shall continue to be in operation and the same is not varied or modified in any manner T.N. Godavarman Thirumulpad Vs. Union of India, (2010) 13 SCC 316 whatsoever. It is made clear that no further time shall be granted to the Government of Uttar Pradesh for disposal of the said applications.

(3.) THIS application is dismissed requiring no further orders as such.
